Ron’s family home was filmed at 1035 Creekside Drive. The house is on Rhe southwest corner of the block when you come around the curve. This was actually my grandmothers house when they began filming in the late 80’s. It was very interesting to see how they transformed the house since the front had a bay window. The built a facade and closed in the patio. They also built a deck on the back of the house. In the movie you see a pine tree in the backyard. The pine tree was lifted from a crane and placed there and then painted since it was cut down. The house was originally white and the red at the beginning of the movie then yellow when Ron returned. After filming painted back to white again. I have to say it was a neat experience to see what all went on during the filming and meeting the stars in the late 80’s as a teen.
Hi Jeff,
My Grandmother Louise Clark lived across the street from your Grandmother on Creekside Drive. Your Grandmother’s house was on the corner of the curve and hers straight across the street, her house facing the side of your Grandmother’s house. I went with some of my college friends to watch filming one day it was indeed interesting to see how they create all the movie magic. I got to meet Tom Cruise and it was a fun experience.
