Hey, where’s the sign, “welcome to Peyton Place.” It actually said, Welcome to Camden on one side the other side said Welcome to Rockport.
It was there 10 years ago. Important to add.
It was there in late 2019. The sign is almost certainly still there. If you’re looking on Route 1 for the sign, you’re looking in the wrong place.
It is still there and is on Union Street in Camden.
Very nice. It doesn’t look like Camden has commemorated the locations very much, which is curious. I mean, sure the town’s society was savagely shown; but the locations themselves were absolutely gorgeous.
The film was nominated for Best Color Cinematography at the Oscars, losing (probably deservedly) to The Bridge on the River Kwai.
