I lived at the Graham School for Children (an Orphanage). The scene where Paul Newman and his girlfriend Piper Laurie are on the grass. Every time the Hustler would come on TV we would look for that scene. You can’t tell but those are steps that lead down to a bus stop. My mother walked up and down those steps many times to come and visit me. The steps eventually lead to a bus that would go into Yonkers. It’s an incredibly beautiful scene where you could see the Palisades and the Hudson river, something not captured in the movie, and unfortunately it’s in black and white.
My grandmother worked at the Graham school- Mildred Reiff- Paul used her room as a dressing room and the blanket Paul was sitting on during the picnic scene is my baby blanket I still have it- It is green.

Thank you. Pau was the best.
This website is great! I’d been wondering about Hustler locations for years.
The picnic scene in Hustler, where Newman with his thumbs in casts tells Laurie about the joy of shooting pool. Was that filmed around Yonkers?
I had read somewhere that it was filmed in Hastings. Which is the next town over North of Yonkers on Warburton Ave.
I always watch The Hustler from a different perspective. I remember Parisien from 40 years ago
Watched this classic film many times , Miss those times and People Like them , Salt of the Earth
