Have lived in Reno for so many years and never realized I was sitting on the stage of such a great classic. Recently when I do watch one of my favorites or even a film I enjoy for that matter I will look up filming location. Within a few weeks of seeing The Misfits again, I took my daughter out for a 160 mile road trip and started in downtown Reno, not far from our home after which we drove out to the ranch where we met the now owner, who was not happy to see us pull up. Drove to the Pyramid lake just up the highway and took a few pictures. From there, traveled south to the Misfit Flates. Great to see the same Moutain ranges the great actors worked next to and even took some pictures at similar angles to those in the film. Continued south on hwy 50 to Dayton and saw the Bar.

My 20 year old daughter thoroughly enjoyed herself and was really able to see my passion for Classic movies.

    Thanks!

Scott, enjoyed reading your trip around Reno looking at some of the locations of the Misfits. Good movie with legendary actors like Gable and Monroe, and great supporting actors also..
I’m in Reno a lot and never thought to look at some of the locations, but felt in a way I was on the trip with you.
Have always been a fan of that movie written by Arthur Miller. It’s a classic, and always identified with the characters and a nice snapshot of Reno at that time.
Sure it will always be a good memory for you and your daughter taking that drive!
    Thanks,
    Rich
